description
As part of the Tim Norell tribute, here’s When The Night Is Cold by O!Dorian & The LaVettes, release date 22/11. In 1988 the song was the first release by Army Of Lovers, and was dedicated to Michel Foucault, a French philosopher who passed away from AIDS in 1984. The song wasn’t a hit back then, not even here in Sweden, and today that first era of Army Of Lovers (before the world conquering in 1991) is quite forgotten. When it comes to this song, that’s a shame.
When The Night Is Cold is written by Tim NorellAnders HanssonRex Gisslén and Alexander Bard, and was originally produced by Ola Håkansson. This new version is produced by Peter Johansson (SCALA) with the lead vocals exclusively recorded by Jake E (Cyhra).
And let’s not stop there, as background vocalist we hear Britta Bergström, one of Sweden’s most well-known voices, but mostly in disguise or in the background. She was a backup singer for two Eurovision Song Contest winners, Loreen 2012 and Måns Z 2015.
When O!Dorian was asked to join the tribute project, he felt he needed to find his own “Army of Lovers” to do this song justice. And here they are! Emil (O!Dorian) accompanied by Lola and Lince, two amazons that fit the concept very well. When Lince was asked if she could sing, she responded “-I am really good at miming,”. 100% Army Of Lovers 😉
